Finally Friday...except not really/WHERE DID WINTER QUARTER GO??

Wow.  It's Friday.  This week has gone by so fast, which for the first time is a bad thing because I now only have 2 more days left to study for my Monday finals.  Darn.  I was looking through my old posts and realized that it has been over a month since I started my blog...time has flown by!  Looking back, I haven't been able to blog as much as I would have liked to but I'm fairly happy with the content thus far.  However, I'm semi-running out of ideas...so if you have any please let me know!!!

On that note, starting in the next couple of weeks I'm going to start having guest bloggers!  I've talked to a couple of people and so far everyone has been pretty enthusiastic about it.  So if you're interested in that let me know!

On to today's post.  A summary of winter quarter:

As my second quarter of college draws to a close I'm going to take some time to revisit some of the highs and lows of this winter!

1.  Classes
-This quarter I took French, Math, Econ, and an Ethics class.  I remember being excited at the beginning for my first "college" class (Ethics), and honestly it was kind of a let down.  None of my classes this quarter were exceptionally exciting and they all definitely had parts that were exceptionally difficult.

2.  Sorority Recruitment
-The second week of this quarter brought about major social changes for a lot of girls on campus as it felt like the whole freshman class went through Rush.  I personally thought the process was a little more intense than what I had anticipated but, as cliche as it sounds, everyone ended up where they should have!  Things I learned:  1.  Keep an open mind and don't let stereotypes influence your thoughts.  2.  Trust the system.  3.  The greek system isn't for everyone.

 3.  Sorority Events
-Of course as soon as you're in a chapter the massive amounts of social events commence.  From pre-games 1-3 times a week, to formals, and bonding time with your new pledge class...this quarter definitely was the quarter to enjoy sister and brotherhood!

4.  Swimming
-Practice amped up to 3-4 times a week, which took up a decent amount of my time but helped me deal with a little stress.  Ended this quarter with club elections and will serve on the swim club executive board starting next quarter!

5.  DANCE MARATHON.
-I LOVE DM.  SO MUCH.  All year I had been looking for something to be my passion at college and I think I may have found it.  Raising over 1.1 million dollars for charity, dancing for 30 hours with some of the coolest cats, and nailing down some corporate donations all made DM one of the best experiences I've had at school.  I'm already SUPER pumped for DM2013!!!

6.  Family Visit
-I was unable to leave Chicago for a weekend due to lots of events and lots of homework so my mom and sister came down and chilled with me for a weekend in February.  We went shopping downtown and ate lots of nummy food.  Next time we'll definitely hit up some of the museums and the aquarium!

So cheers to winter quarter.  All the memories.  The weather we never got.  Finding love in the 618.  Dancing.  3am chats.  The future.  Spring quarter will be EPIC.

Peace. Love. Spring break.
Kat
